Description: This session will educate you on how to detect a potential IRS audit and CP2000's months in advance. Once the exam is detected we will review best practices to identify what is being reviewed and how to best mitigate the outcome. We will start with a review of the IRM and the IRS Exam process that explains the audit process in depth as well as where to look for the audit indicators. Once the audit is detected best practices will be reviewed to mitigate the result like contesting the accuracy related penalties and preparing amended returns before the audit actually begins.
